This two (2) day short course on underground asset location is designed for telecommunication workers who install, maintain or work near underground services. Learn to use a variety of techniques to locate underground assets such as cables, gas lines, plumbing or electricity to prevent damage and to work safely.

Learners will gain the skills to accurately locate, mark and avoid damaging buried underground assets using industry standard techniques such as the Dial Before You Dig service, electromagnetic locating, ground penetrating radar (GPR) and handheld devices.

 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING to your Underground Asset Location course

  • Proof of identity to show your instructor – this can be either a current driver’s licence, passport or company photo ID
  • Steel cap boots
  • Appropriate work attire – long sleeve shirt and pants
  • Safety glasses

With the exception of qualifications, students have 3 months from commencement of training, to complete all learning and demonstrate competence. After this time the enrolment will be cancelled.
