Our pole top rescue course covers all aspects of this important safety procedure. For workers in the telecommunication industry it’s important to understand and practice best safety procedures for working on poles and at heights. This short course gives students the opportunity to upgrade their skills and understand the practical importance of industry standard safety practices such as working with harnesses and other personal protective equipment.

The training will explain responsibilities for rescue, health, safety, risk management and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

Students get hands on experience and practice with poles and safety harnesses in a simulated environment and learn all aspects of this important safety procedure.


HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation  is a prerequisite for this course and must be completed before attending this training.

  • Pole top rescue preparation – hazards and risk control measures, checking tools and emergency equipment
  • Carrying out pole top rescue – workplace procedures for accessing the pole top, workplace procedures and work instructions for attaching lowering equipment, carrying out CPR and site securing the site
  • Completing pole top rescue – processes for reporting incidents and accidents

Course cancellations and changes

JB Hunter reserves the right to cancel, postpone or alter the dates and/or times of any course. Trading terms seven (7) days. Any debt collection fees incurred will be added to the balance of the account.

Cancellation Fees

On confirmed receipt of written notice from the client:

  • 11+ business days prior to course commencement – cancellation fee 10%, transfer fee 5%
  • 6-10 business days prior to course commencement – cancellation fee 25%, transfer fee 12.5%
  • 3-5 business days prior to course commencement – cancellation Fee 50%, transfer fee 25%
  • 0-2 business days prior to course commencement OR non-attendance – cancellation fee 100%, no transfers
  • Cancellation after being granted a previous transfer – minimum cancellation fee 25%


Transfer and cancellation fees are based on the full standard course price – any discounts or subsidies offered will no longer apply.
