Understand nbn™ Fibre Architecture

The optical fibre splicing course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to splice and terminate optical fibre cable within an optical telecommunications transmission environment.

This is a Telstra accredited course providing learners with the necessary skills to work in accordance with Telstra requirements.
This course is suitable for nbn™ contractors performing handling, cleaning, splicing and terminating of fibre telecommunications cables installed in underground pipes, trenches and overhead systems.

NBN ACCREDITED SKILLS INCLUDED

  • nbn Skill 9 – Fibre inspection and cleaning;
  • nbn Skill 13 – Fibre splicing;

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING to your optical fibre splicing course

  • Proof of identity to show your instructor – this can be either a current driver’s licence, passport or company photo ID
  • Enclosed shoes or safety boots
  • Appropriate work attire – long sleeve shirt and pants
  • Safety glasses
