Students learn about optical fibre cabling, including the identification of different forms of optical fibre cable. Study and understand the way optical cable and fibre work. Students get hands on training in safe handling procedures, installation and termination, splicing and jointing methods. Course participants experience and use a variety of test equipment and are guided through the process of testing and interpreting results.
To improve your ability to work in the customer services environment, we also recommend the Open Cabler Registration course.

Upon successful completion of this training program, you will awarded the following unit(s) of competency:
ICTCBL322 – Install, test and terminate optical fibre cable on customer premises
ICTTEN318 – Inspect, clean and handle optical fibre cable and connectors
This course provides learners with the skills and knowledge to splice and terminate optical fibre cable within an optical telecommunications transmission environment.
