Prerequisites: Students must have completed the Endeavour Energy Safety Rules November 2019 (initial), within 3 years of the course date. Must also hold the UETDRMP002 - ESI safety rules for work on, near or in the vicinity of electrical apparatus unit of competency (or equivalent).

This online refresher course, approved by Endeavour Energy, meets the requirements of the Endeavour Energy Safety Rules November 2019 (Refresher) course. It applies ESI Safety Rules, Codes of Practice & Procedures for Work on or Near Electrical Apparatus for Endeavour Energy. It includes the application of relevant NSW safety rules, codes of practice and enterprise-based procedures and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions.

The Electrical Safety Rules govern Endeavour Energy’s work practices to ensure all employees or persons, including visitors and contractors, comply with Endeavour Energy’s safety policies and procedures. A safe workplace is everyone’s responsibility. This refresher course is intended to complement your own experience and knowledge of working safely around electricity.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE FOR YOUR ONLINE COURSE

  • A desktop or laptop computer with a current browser (we recommend Chrome) or equivalent, Tablet or iPad
  • Students must have the ability to perform fundamental tasks on their computer or Tablet. This includes understanding certain software, applications, programs and tools e.g., Microsoft applications, Adobe Acrobat Reader, internet search engines

 

THIS COURSE IS SUITABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING WORKERS AND INDUSTRIES

The Endeavour Energy Safety Rules (Refresher) applies to all persons, employees, contractors and Accredited Service Providers working on or near high voltage and low voltage electrical apparatus associated with Endeavour Energy’s electricity network.
This course applies to Telecommunications Network Engineering field staff including technicians and their technical supervisors working for the network provider, delivery partner, third party contractors or other service providers who carry out domestic, commercial or industrial installations in indoor and outdoor environments.

This is a self-paced online course with an online assessment. The assessment references the Endeavour Energy Safety Rules November 2019. The Electrical Safety Rules document is in the assessment. The assessment is designed to work through the relevant sections of the Rules. Students are required to read each question, locate the right section within the Rules, and select the correct answer in the assessment. Allow approximately 120 minutes to complete your online assessment.

 

Prerequisites

Students must have completed the Endeavour Energy Safety Rules November 2019 (initial). Only students who have completed their initial or refresher training within 3 years the of course date are eligible to attend a refresher course.
Students must also hold the following unit:

  • UETDRMP002 – ESI safety rules for work on, near or in the vicinity of electrical apparatus

Online Endeavour Energy Electrical Safety Rules Course (Refresher)

  • Understand and apply relevant safety rules, codes of practice and procedures
  • Identify and obtain hazards and risk control measures for specific work functions/areas
  • Understand and correctly apply the requirement for access authority/work permits required for work from appropriate personnel in accordance with established procedures
  • Prepare, assess and monitor safety systems and equipment for work to minimise and control hazards
  • Understand and correctly follow workplace procedures and work instructions for controlling risk
  • Follow specific workplace systems and equipment isolation procedures
  • Identify restricted workplace areas including ingress and egress procedures
  • Understand and Identify Safe Approach Distance procedures.
