This nbn™ Fibre Tester course is intended for nbn™ contractors required to test and fault find nbn’s™ Fibre Optic network across the three different architectures (TFN, DFN and LFN / MT-LFN).

This course meets the requirements for nbn™ technical skill accreditations:

  • Skill 12 – Testing and commissioning live fibre;

 

What Do I Take to My nbn™ Fibre Tester Course?

  • Proof of identity to show your instructor – this can be either a current driver’s licence, passport or company photo ID
  • Enclosed shoes or safety boots
  • Appropriate work attire
  • Safety glasses
  • A laptop to class to access learning resources
Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for the nbn™  tester course, however it is recommended that students have an understanding of,  and experience with fibre splicing principles.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will receive statements of attainment for the following nationally-accredited units of competency:

  • ICTBWN304 – Work safely with live fibre to test and commission a fibre to the x installation
  • ICTBWN305 – Use optical and radio frequency measuring instruments
  • ICTWHS204 – Follow work health and safety and environmental policy and procedures

Course cancellations and changes

JB Hunter reserves the right to cancel, postpone or alter the dates and/or times of any course. Trading terms seven (7) days. Any debt collection fees incurred will be added to the balance of the account.
Transfer & cancellation fees apply.
Only one transfer allowed per booking.

Cancellation Fees

On confirmed receipt of written notice from the client:

  • 11+ business days prior to course commencement – cancellation fee 10%, transfer fee 5%
  • 6-10 business days prior to course commencement – cancellation fee 25%, transfer fee 12.5%
  • 3-5 business days prior to course commencement – cancellation Fee 50%, transfer fee 25%
  • 0-2 business days prior to course commencement OR non-attendance – cancellation fee 100%, no transfers
  • Cancellation after being granted a previous transfer – minimum cancellation fee 25%

 

Transfer and cancellation fees are based on the full standard course price – any discounts or subsidies offered will no longer apply.
