Nbn™  FTTC Courses

The following FTTC courses align with the nbn™ technical skill accreditations for the copper components of FTTC work, which are Skills 2, 3, 5. We have also included sessions for Skills 1 and 16. (for those who require it)

Fault Finding

Duration :Three (3) days
Course Fee: $750.00

This is the ICTTEN303: Locate, identify and rectify recurrent network faults unit of competency.
It is a two and a Three (3) day course and covers nbn™ Technical Skill Accreditation 5.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING to your fault finding course

  • Proof of identity to show your instructor – this can be either a current driver’s licence, passport or company photo ID
  • Enclosed shoes or safety boots
  • Appropriate work attire – long sleeve shirt and pants
  • Safety glasses


Simplex FTTC Jointing

Duration: Three (3) days
Course Fee: $750.00

This is the ICTCBL215: Joint metallic conductor cable in access network unit of competency.
It is a Three (3) day course and covers nbn™ Technical Skill Accreditations 2 and 3.

Jumpering

Duration : One (1) day
Course Fee: $250.00

This is the ICTCBL320: Jumper metallic conductor cable in the access network unit of competency. It is a one (1) day course and covers nbn™ Technical Skill Accreditation 1.

Aerial Cabling

Duration : One (1) day
Course Fee: $250.00

This is the ICTCBL214: Fix aerial cable unit of competency.
It is a one (1) day course and covers nbn™ Technical Skill Accreditation 16.

  • Appropriate work attire – long sleeve shirt and pants

Fibre Hygiene and DPU Installation

this is a one (1) day course and covers ICTTEN311 – Inspect, clean and handle optical fibre cable and connectors
This Fibre Hygiene and DPU Installation course is designed for nbn workers seeking accreditation to perform FTTC installation and maintenance work. On successful completion of this program, workers will be provided with the relevant certification to upload to the enAble portal for Skills 9 and 29.
Duration : One (1) day
Course Fee: $250.00

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING to your Fibre Hygiene and DPU Installation course

  • Your enAble ID card and photo ID such as drivers licence
  • Please bring your laptop to complete your online activities via the enAble web site.

 

Certification

Students who successfully complete the Fault Finding training program will be issued:

Students who successfully complete the Simplex FTTC Jointing training program will be issued:
ICTCBL215: Joint metallic conductor cable in access network

Students who successfully complete the Jumpering training program will be issued:

Students who successfully complete the Aerial Cabling training program will be issued:
ICTCBL214: Fix aerial cable unit of competency

Students who successfully complete the Fibre Hygiene and DPU Installation training program will be issued:
ICTTEN311 – Inspect, clean and handle optical fibre cable and connectors
