The basic copper jointing course is based on nbn™’s approved curriculum (covering nbn Technical Skill Accreditations 2 & 3) and takes the participant through the key skills to work on Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) and Fibre to the Node (FTTN). Participants will get hands on experience in jointing copper cable using a variety of joints.
Learners can gain the skills and knowledge required to understand the telecommunications carrier network architecture and then joint metallic conductor cable on the service. Learners will get hands on experience jointing copper cable using a variety of joints (openable and inline, including epoxy and heat shrink). They will also experience pillar and node termination techniques.
Upon successful completion of this training program, you will awarded the following unit(s) of competency:
ICTCBL254 – Joint metallic conductor cable in access network.

With the exception of qualifications, students have 3 months from commencement of training, to complete all learning and demonstrate competence. After this time the enrolment will be cancelled.
