BSA Power Awareness Training including Endeavour Energy Safety Rules Refresher (NSW Only)

This course is for telecommunications workers who have previously completed an ASP Initial training program, such as JB Hunter’s HSE3 Three-Yearly Initial course and Endeavour Energy Safety Rules Initial. The content is designed to be a refresher for this training.

This program has an eight (8) hour face-to-face classroom-based session where you will undergo a range of practical assessments, as well as online components. Both knowledge and practical assessments need to be successfully completed to be deemed competent.

The online components will need to be completed before attending your workshop.

Before the commencement of this program, the learner is expected to have achieved the fundamental understanding of all topics. As mentioned above, to be eligible for this program, you will have needed to have successfully completed an ASP and Endeavour Initial program in the past.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING to your HSE course?

  • Proof of identity to show your instructor – this can be either a current driver’s licence, passport or company photo ID
  • ARC Rated clothing of 100% cotton, long sleeve shirts and drill pants
  • Hi-Vis Vest
  • Safety helmet (hard hat)
  • Steel Toe (capped) Boots with a defined heel
  • Riggers Gloves

Prerequisites

Workers must have previously done initial training for units of the course.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this training program, you will be awarded the following nationally accredited unit(s) of competency:

Course information

The BSA Power Awareness program covers the following key areas:

  • Skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines
  • The provision of first aid in an Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) environment. It includes the recognition and provision of an initial response and application, where first aid is required in emergency situations
  • Pole top rescue emergency procedures as required in the work place. It specifies the mandatory requirements for a rescue of a telecommunications person from a pole top area

This course is suitable for NSW workers.

Further training may be required by the electricity supply authority in your jurisdiction. Please contact your employer/delivery partner if you have any questions about your HSE requirements before enrolling in this course.

With the exception of qualifications, students have 3 months from commencement of training, to complete all learning and demonstrate competence. After this time the enrolment will be cancelled.
