Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course (CPR)

This CPR course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in a range of situations and has been developed in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Low Voltage Rescue (LVR)

The LVR component of this training covers the skills and knowledge required for a person to be able to carry out a risk assessment of an electrically hazardous situation and perform low voltage rescue procedures without causing a hazard to themselves or others. It is recommended that both LVR & CPR training are refreshed yearly or as required by workplace and industry needs.

blended learning

This program is delivered as a blended learning solution and provides learners with an assessment only option for both knowledge and practical components. This essentially means that if you believe your knowledge and skills are current you may simply resit the actual knowledge assessments without having to go through all the theory again.

This training program is delivered in two parts and combines both self-paced e-learning where you will be able to resit the knowledge assessments for these units of competency, before attending a three (3) hour face to face classroom based session where you will undergo a range of practical assessments.

The self-paced knowledge assessments will need to be completed in your own time but must be successfully completed prior to attending the face to face practical session. Both the knowledge and practical assessments need to be successfully completed to be deemed competent.

How elearning and blended learning works

When you have selected the course you wish to enrol in, click on the Book E-Learning button and complete the booking screen. Once you have completed the online knowledge assessments and student declaration, you will be contacted by a Student Support Officer. A suitable workshop booking for you will be made for the practical component of this training program.

Working at heights course

Do I need working at heights training?
Falls are a major cause of death and serious injury in Australian workplaces. Fall hazards are found when carrying out common tasks in the installation and maintenance of a telecommunication service. In the telecommunication industry falls can also occur at ground level into open holes, for example trenches, manholes or service pits. Falls can also occur at height, causing serious injury or death.

This course has been developed to comply with the Australian Work Health and Safety Regulations. This course is designed to provide training in relation to the risks involved in the workplace and provides safe work procedures when working at heights.

This nationally recognised course follows the code's of practice in ‘Managing the risk of fall at workplaces’ and, ‘Preventing falls in housing construction’ & construction work, and covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of working at height.

It is focused on fall prevention rather than fall arrest. This course is designed to deliver the ‘best practices’, to assist the telecommunication industry workforces when working at the customers premise for residential and commercial installation & maintenance tasks. This training is designed to equip workers with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely and to Australian standards in any height situation.

This training covers risk assessment, selection and correct use of equipment, rigging and anchor systems, fall restraint, work positioning and fall arrest systems.

The Working At Heights ( WAH) course will require you to participate in physical practical exercises.
For students safety there is a maximum of 12 learners per course.

Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Course for New Entrants

This course is for telecommunications workers who are required to complete a HSENE – HSE for New Entrants. It is aligned to the Accredited Service Provider (ASP) 1xf program. The content is designed to deliver the ‘best practices’, to assist the telecommunication industry workforces when working in a deregulated carrier network.

This training program is delivered in two parts and combines both self-paced e-learning to cover off the theoretical components of the course as well as classroom based learning where students will undergo a range of practical assessments. The self-paced e-learn component is to be completed in your own time but must be successfully completed prior to attending the two (2) day practical classroom component. Both the theory and practical components need to be successfully completed to be deemed competent.

This program places greater emphasis on the manual handling, lifting and carrying of ladders. There is sufficient time to allow learners to become accustomed to working at height on telecommunication and share use poles. This course is highly recommended for learners that are new or are returning to the trade after a prolonged absence.

This course also includes JBHT-01WMH working at manholes. Upon the successful completion of this course, learners are eligible to enrol in the HSEI assessment and practical program in the following year.
