Trade Qualifications

A traineeship is the ideal way to start a new career in the telecommunications or security industry. To qualify for a government funded  (sometimes called User Choice) traineeship, a trainee must be indentured (employed) to an employer.  An organization called an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) will normally be the go-between between the employer and the prospective trainee making the arrangements. Starting off with the basics a trainee progresses to more advanced studies and applications. After completing a Certificate 2 or Certificate 3 a student may progress on to higher qualifications.

Traineeships are usually between 12 and 24 months depending on the level (Certificate 2 or 3) and the requirements of the State in which you reside. Trainees with JB Hunter Technology attend ‘off the job’ classroom based training in a block release format. New Entrant Trainees are also required to keep an experience log/diary of their ‘on the job’ experience that is monitored by JB Hunter Technology throughout the traineeship.

Not all workplaces are the same so there is some scope in tailoring traineeships to meet the requirements of the employer/workplace.  JB Hunter Technology will be happy to discuss the structure of a traineeship program so that not only the career path of trainee, but also the requirements of the workplace are met.
