Internal Cabling
"Internal cabling" refers to both indoor and outdoor cabling within a customer's premises.
Internal (indoor) cabling is "..cabling that is installed inside a building, but not underground or exposed to the elements."
Government legislation requires that all cablers installing internal (indoor) cabling have a base level of qualification that reflects their particular cabling environment, i.e. Domestic; where the supply voltage is 240v/415v multi phase, requires minimum "restricted" cabler registration. For all other customer premises, i.e. Residential complexes, large shopping centres, commercial and industrial buildings, the cabler requires "Open" Registration.
External (outdoor) cabling is "..customer cabling that is installed external to a building, either underground or exposed to the elements (aerial)."
External (outdoor) cabling may be installed by the open/restricted cabler subject to the terms and limitations of their particular registrations. Generally Open/Restricted cablers do not install external (outdoor) cabling beyond the defined boundaries of the customer's property.
BLUE iQ - Testimonial
G'Day Folks, Just back off the Rockhampton Open Registered Cabler course with your instructor and I thought I'd better let you know how it went. The course was excellent! It was obviously well written and presented using good teaching techniques. The workbook style, together with trial exams and review sessions made knowledge retention easy. The instructor’s approach, teaching style and management of the classroom, together with his obviously in-depth industry experience made for an interesting and fun learning environment, exceeding expectations and delivering a high quality learning experience. The course was easy to arrange, all requirements were clearly identified ahead of time and JB Hunter admin staff were knowledgeable and helpful in all communications. The training process with JB Hunter is efficient and transparent, and in comparison to our previous training provider JB Hunter is a dream come true. Blue iQ has recently switched from using another provider to meet our training requirements, this course being something of a test case. I'm happy to say that I will be fully recommending that we continue with JB Hunter, and fully expect to have several staff run through your courses in the next twelve months. Thanks again for a great course.
