National Broadband Network (NBN) Training Pathways
JB Hunter Technology is an NBN Approved Training Provider (ATP) delivering specialised short courses and preferred pathway qualifications designed by NBN Co.
The three primary roles for the provisioning of the NBN have been defined by NBN Co as NBN Splicer, NBN Linesworker, and NBN Installer. JB Hunter Technology delivers Certificate II and III level training to meet these requirements and make learners NBN-ready.
JB Hunter Technology commences HFC Linesworker & Technician Training Programs
In early December 2016, JB Hunter commenced HFC training for workers completing jobs from the tap down (Linesworker) and tap up (Technician). Both programs have been designed in conjunction with nbn and our delivery partner clients to provide a “hands on” industry relevant training solution that allows graduates to hit the field with the skills they need. Students were exposed to skills such as hardline coax splicing, installing coaxial lead ins, installing HFC equipment pedestals, aligning Global Network Amplifiers and RF Network testing.
NBN Splicer
An NBN Splicer is a worker who undertakes splicing,
testing and commissioning activities on fibre optic cable.

NBN Linesworker
An NBN Linesworker undertakes a range of activities in the field including hauling cable, constructing pits and ductwork and undertaking rodding and roping.

NBN Installer
