ICT30313 - Certificate III in Telecommunications Cabling

This qualification reflects the role of an operator in the telecommunications industry who can apply a broad range of competencies in a varied work context of installation to operation of telecommunications equipment and products.




Qualification Structure

Total number of Units = 12

Learners undertaking this qualification are required to undertake the 6 core units, 1 group A elective and five group B electives.

BSBSUS301A - Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices
ICTWHS2170B - Follow work health and safety and environmental policies and procedures
ICTCBL3015A - Locate and identify cable system faults
ICTTEN2008A - Use electrical skills in telecommunications work
ICTTEN2140B - Use hand and power tools
ICTTEN3250A - Provide infrastructure for telecommunications customer equipment

ICTWOR3127A - Supervise worksite activities

The group B electives below are designed to provide learners with the competence to undertake customer premises cabling.

ICTCBL2136B - Install, maintain and modify customer premises communications cabling: ACMA Restricted Rule
- Install, maintain and modify customer premises communications cabling: ACMA Open Rule 
ICTCBL3009B - Install, terminate and certify structured cabling installation 
ICTCBL3010B - Install and terminate optical fibre cable on customer premises 
ICTCBL3011B - Install and terminate coaxial cable
